Frites, family and friends

It was back to Beligum this weekend to visit Mattias. We had a lazy Saturday - the highlight of which was possibly trying my first cornet of frites from the famed Maison Antoine on Place Jourdan. They were very tasty, and crispy like they're supposed to be. Don't know how many times I can justify eating hot chips in the pursuit of Belgian culture though!

And then it was off to Londerzeel - a small rural village half an hour out of Brussels where Mattias is from - to have dinner with his family and then hit the town with a couple of his friends. It was just like going out in Toowoomba! Today was another quiet day with lunch and a walk around town before coming back to London.

I take it that the parents took a shine to you?
