Lavender picking

A couple of Saturdays ago Louise, Jaimee and I went to an allotment in the outer suburbs of London for a lavender festival. Throughout the year people have been tending to these plants and on one weekend each year, the public can come along and harvest it.

Amidst the bumble bees, old women and children all there for a day out, the three of us picked a bucket full of stems for £6. And finished up with some tea and home made cake from a stall. It was a delightful morning!
