Flowers, food and fireworks

Millie invited me to join her on Monday night at a party on the preview evening of the Hampton Court Flower show. It was a beautiful evening and a tempting proposition. We took a train to Hampton Court and then a short boat ride up the Thames to the entrance of the show. The boat ride was a highlight in itself!

We had Pimm's, champagne and canapés care of our hosts, the garden sponsors (Vestra Wealth). It was an edible garden, 'Jardin du Gourmet'  (awarded silver!) and designed in collaboration with chef, Andy McFadden from L'Autre Pied.

Andy walked around with a sample of some of the garden's delights for us to try:
Radish (eat the leaves)
Lavender (use in a panna cotta)
Allium (great for salads, similar flavour to chives)
Flowering sage (also good for salads)

The evening ended with fireworks which we watched on our way home!
