Stuttgart Christmas markets

Now a favourite tradition, this year I managed to squeeze in a weekend at the Stuttgart christmas markets with Stu & Kris (and joined by Rich and Karen) before heading home to Australia.

There is just the one big central market in town but in the villages dotted around Stuttgart the local markets are very charming. Certainly the medieval themed market in Esslingen was one of the best I've been to.

A highlight of our weekend was the chance to catch up with Helmut & Brigitte who we met in Cologne at the beginning of 2013, and Iman, Laleh's cousin. We were side-tracked from the markets early on Saturday afternoon by the bar in the alpine hut and stayed out catching up with our friends til the wee hours of the morning.

Another highlight, as ever in Germany, was the food. We had our fill of bratwurst, pulled pork and much more!
