We took the early train down on the 31st, kicked off with lunch and spent the afternoon chatting and playing games in front of the fire until it was time for dinner at their local pub. Our four course dinner was good and the pub charming but we decided to head back to the house to ring in the new year with our own private fireworks display in the back garden.
The first day of the year was very relaxed - sleep in, late breakfast, a game of Cluedo with cheese and red wine in front of the fire, and a delicious dinner cooked up by Suzy.
On the 2nd we came back to London and the three of us headed out for dinner with David at Chiltern Firehouse.
