Qld escape for Christmas

With all other holidays for the year cancelled, I saved up my 4 weeks to have the whole month of December off (the same as 2019).

With international borders closed and a trip to the UK off the cards, my next option was to get to Queensland. As soon as the state borders opened on 1st December, I flew up (literally the day after!).

It kicked off with a few days in Brisbane staying in Toowong with Rob and hanging out with him, plus dinner with Lou, and dinner and a luxe overnight stay at the Calile Hotel with Belinda. I even tested out the local scooter transport option between the city and Toowong!

Next I went across to Toowoomba for a few days seeing Mum, my cousin Kristy and friend Lisa. I got back on the horse and had a couple of driving refresher lessons after circa 10 years of not driving!

Then it was up to Noosa for a blissful 3-week escape of fresh air, sun, sea and sand. I walked nearly every day in the national park (with a couple of different routes this year), swam nearly every day at Little Cove and ate as much leg ham as I could. Restaurant lunches, reading, board games and Netflix were thrown in too. The rain only stopped me on a few days. Christmas with Mum & Rob in the middle was nice and low key. It was brilliant seeing more friends too. Alana and her kids had lunch at Bistro C, Lou and the family came up for a day to hang out, and I saw Aleta and her family after their move back from Seattle.

On the very last day before flying back to Melbourne, I met Dunja & Marcus for lunch at the Howard Smith Wharves, and finally met their baby Ana for some cuddles in St Lucia.
