Matt and I stayed on for the rest of the weekend and saw a few of the sights despite the rain.
On Saturday we brunched at the Vaults & Garden cafe, took shelter on the citysights bus tour and saw most of the city from the bus windows. We devoted some extra time to the Bodleian Library (pretty fantastic and holds every single book published in the UK. You can see it in Harry Potter), the Covered Market (the oldest indoor market), found the Turf Tavern (cosy little pub), wandered around the quad at New College, and had an afternoon drink at the Quod brasserie. Dinner was at Aziz, a well known local Bangladeshi restaurant, with drinks at Coco afterwards.

(exams used to be taken here publicly, and this is now where the graduation ceremonies are held)

This morning we had Sunday brunch (which would have been with Mum if I was at home!) at The Grand Cafe which has very yummy food and a nice atmosphere. Then we went to see Christ Church College where several scenes of Harry Potter were filmed, had a drink at The Bear, and climbed the stairs to the top of St Mary's church for a final look at Oxford before heading home.

The Dining Hall...look familiar?

A Staircase...also featured in Harry Potter

Oxford is a really lovely city and worth having a proper look around. It must be truly amazing to study there with all of that history and in those environs. But of course it doesn't compare to the Gardens Point campus of QUT!
