We lunched at the funky Le Refectoire in Bastille (where M&H live in an adorable apartment) and headed out to Canal St Martin, an area of Paris I hadn't seen before. I expected there to be a bit more buzz but there wasn't a lot happening and so we continued our wander in the 19th arrondisement into the Parc de la Villette which was full of families enjoying some sun.

Me (looking extremely tired!)
Back into the thick of things, we had an overpriced but-it-has-to-be-done coffee at Cafe de Flore in St Germain and a walk through the streets and Jardin du Luxembourg before going back to Bastille.

More Saturday afternoon action
That eve the four of us dined at Pre Verre which has an interesting but yummy menu (who knew strawberries and parsley ice cream would work!).
Re-energised by fresh pain au chocolat & baguettes for breakfast, Sunday saw us go through M&H's local market to find the ingredients for dinner and make a pit stop at Baron Rouge, a local wine bar, for a couple of glasses of wine and some cheese. Later in the afternoon we all explored the Basilica and tree-lined streets of Montemarte.

And then sadly another excellent weekend came to a close and I was back on the Eurostar. But not before enjoying a delicious dinner care of our hosts.
