It is nigh impossible to catch all the bands you want to see between toilet breaks, crossing the fields through the mud, re-charging phones, and food breaks and bar queues but I saw some great music and glimpsed so much more. My favourites were Amy Winehouse, the Cat Empire (another brilliant live gig from them), the Bees, Klaxons, and Paolo Nutini (which was great to see after missing him in Edinburgh at New Year). Also caught bits of CSS, Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs & the Killers.
As always there is so much more going on than just the music, there are loads of kooky and wonderful things happening. The people watching is terrific. The atmosphere is fab despite the constant rain and mud. The cider is delish. Waking up to the National Youth Orchestra playing on the Pyramid stage at 10am one morning was a nice surprise (a bunch of us were camped on a hill overlooking the festival & main stage which was a great spot). And the fiddler at the Banyan Tree cafe certainly put a big smile on my weary sunday morning face!
Hanging out with the troop who were there was great fun as well - Alana & Jules, Helen, Stu & Kris, Zoe & James, Ed & Liz plus some of the other Bristol crew. Thanks guys!
And now it's time to ditch the wellies and go back to reality and decent loos ;-)
