It's been a rough and tumble kind of year for me but on the bright side, the highlights of the year from the top:
• Seeing my brother Rob on this side of the world
• Travelling to a whole new world in Morocco
• Outrageous weekend in the Loire Valley with a bunch of friends
• Being surrounded by great friends on my 30th birthday and treating myself to a luxe weekend in the Cotswolds
• Spending two weeks on the west coast of Australia with Mum
• Dining out at more great restaurants. And the best of the best were: Spanish tapas at Salt Yard & Dehesa, Moro, Vinoteca, Cay Tre vietnamese with the girls, Le Trois Garcon, Petersham Nurseries, Wapping Food, & Princess Victoria
• Finally making it to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and seeing my first modern dance piece which I loved. And the cream of the London cultural crop included Speed the Plow, Vanity Fair & Annie Leibovitz photography exhibitions, Bangarra Dance Company, and the La Clique show
Other worthy points to note:
• Taking burlesque dance classes (and still having the scars, if not the moves, to prove it!)
• Dipping my toe into floristry with a class
• Rambling in the countryside
• Accepting a permanent role before the freelance advertising job market crashed
• Getting to know the Maida Vale / Warwick Ave 'burbs
• Hanging out in south London with my local posse of Balham friends
It (almost) goes without saying that being surrounded by so many great friends so far from home is my favourite thing. Thanks to them all for being here and being fab! I was sorry to say goodbye to Tamara, Anna & John and Zoe who have all moved on to new adventures.
Onwards and upwards! Happy new year in 2009 to everyone!
