Lisa, Hamish & I in the Lakes

I've just had the pleasure of spending 5 days in the northern part of the Lake District (Cumbria) with my school friend, Lisa and her baby boy, Hamish.

The Lake District is one of the most beautiful parts of England I've seen so I was more than happy to revisit the area and chill out in the countryside. Besides, I had the added bonus of an entirely new experience - spending time with a baby!

Turns out this 'mum' gig is nerve-racking and tiring work but Hamish is a delight so it all went very well. I also discovered how easily I can set aside my sometimes-OCD behaviour ;-) when there's crawling to be done and mushy food to be shared!

We spent our days among the green hills dotted with sheep and frolicking lambs, snow capped mountains and the odd lake as well. It was a very nice break and great that the three of us could spend time together. Even better that we narrowly avoided getting bogged on a farmer's field in the rain and that we eventually found The Punch Bowl Inn in Crosthwaite (Michelin Guide's Best UK Pub for 2009) for lunch!
