Timberstone B&B was our lovely home for the weekend. Our hostess is a great cook so it took all our will power not to have a huge breakfast on Saturday morning and ruin our appetites for our very special lunch at La Becasse. I had a goat's cheese, mushroom and potato terrine with rhubarb pickle for entree, oxtail with suet dumplings and broccoli for main, and finished our thoroughly enjoyable Michelin meal with an stuffed apple jelly with salted caramel, sage ice cream and blackberries.

Afterwards we wandered around the town and its farmer's market and relaxed in the B&B before a cosy pub dinner.

We had a lazy start on Sunday morning and got around to indulging in that cooked breakfast before checking out Ludlow Castle and the local flea market in the main square. On the 3 and a half hour drive back to London we made a pit stop at a pub which had a very popular carvery lunch! We joined the locals and amusingly finished our weekend with a wholesome roast.
