Soho and Noho are full of little, independent takeaway sandwich bars and coffee shops that I've missed working on the King's Road. Here I have the full array of standard M&S, EAT and Pret wrap, salad, and sandwich choices. Not to be scoffed at but it does get tedious after 3 years, and the 15 minute escape from my desk lacks any charm.
Today however, my colleague Michael shared a secret: Piccolo's; a small, chaotic hole-in-the-wall on Sloane Street. Easy to miss with the distraction of Tiffany's and a dozen other designers surrounding it.
The best news is that the fresh Italian sandwiches are great! The secret is out and I've found a new standard.
