I can't even remember when I got it (Mum?). I carried it for years before I even came to London, and have meticulously noted down everything I've ever done for the last six years (which has served me very well for my current visa application) and all those previous.
But I'm carrying an iPhone every day that can arguably do the same thing, and my poor old filofax is fighting for space with everything else in my handbag.
So for the coming year, my filofax is going in my drawer and I'll see how I fare with my iPhone calendar. I'm certain I will miss the soft leather cover and the flicking of pages to see what adventures lie ahead, or reviewing lists and writing even more... At least I'm filling the space with a good, old-fashioned book to read.
Now that I have nothing to write on though, I wonder if I should keep carrying my pen and pencil?
The whole time I was writing this, I kept typing 'him', instead of 'it' and correcting myself. I didn't realise he was a he until now!
