Summer has been fantastic this season and last weekend the sun continued to shine over the village of Sherborne and countryside all around it.
Ollie and I drove 4 hours to Dorset on Friday night which felt like an age, but we still managed to arrive in time to see dusk settle over the fields where we were staying at Holt Cottage and enjoy a bottle of wine. We were there for a wedding on Saturday afternoon but managed to squeeze in breakfast at the B&B and a stroll through the village before getting ready and going to the wedding.
The ceremony itself was set in lovely grounds of Sherborne Castle and in it's Orangery. The reception followed in a marquee on the bride's family property. It was a low key affair but we had a good time with one of Ollie's good friends who was also in attendance.

After a sleep in and another home-cooked breakfast from our hosts, we had to start the drive back to London to get the car back to the hire place before it closed. A shame to have to dash back instead of drive to the coast or lie in the grass on such a beautiful day but it had to be done. Three and a half hours later we were back in town, and wrapped up the weekend with turkish at local favourite Gokyazu and a drink at the Old Dairy pub near Ollie's house.
