Escape to Greece

I've just come back from a quiet and relaxing 10 day break on the Saronic island of Agistri in Greece.

After a few very challenging and stressful months at work, I was absolutely desperate to get out of the office, get out of London, and have a holiday. With Ollie and I parting ways as well, I felt the need to have a change of scenery more keenly. Jaimee and Damian very generously allowed me to share their holiday plans so I headed to Rosy's Little Village on Agistri and spent 7 days there on my own, and then the last three with Jaimee and Damian.

I spent my days swimming in beautiful turqoiuse water, basking in 30+ degree temperatures, reading novels (6!), and eating greek salads and grilled fish nearly every day, all washed down with local white wine. I ventured to the island across the water and a few other beaches on Agistri just to mix up the daily routine.

The time on my own was very peaceful, but it was great to round it off enjoying Jaimee & Damian's company and sharing the experience. All-in-all it was definitely the break I needed.

I woke up to this view on the first morning... a good sign

I spent most of my time on these sun lounges...

...enjoying this view,

...or this view.

The view walking 5 mins into Skala
A break from greek salads - vegetarian moussaka - at Rosy's

Walking in the village of Metochi

Bougainvillaea action

A morning in the fishing village of Aegina island

The port and cathedral in Aegina
Fresh fruit from the boats at port
The fastest way to see Aegina was on horse & cart

Lunching in Skala to mix up the ocean views

Greek salad & grilled octopus

Dusk in Skala

Sunbathing in Aponisos

Not a bad spot for lunch, the fish taverna in Aponisos
And not a bad lunch either. Mackerel, salad and dolmades.

Agistri is one of the greenest Greek islands - it's covered in pine trees

Delicious stuffed vegetables for lunch today

My favourite beach on the island, Dragonera

Fishing boats at dusk

Dusk over Chalikiada beach

Dusk over the ocean

Finally some activity, a boat trip around the island

Jaimee & Damian have arrived!

Only reachable by boat, this cove of emerald water was the most amazing swim

Post swim

Speeding past Skala

The daily view from Rosy's over the water which I enjoyed at every meal

My last night in Agistri before dinner with Jaimee & Damian
