Christmas Day, and David's visit

I had about 10 days off over the Christmas and NYE period. It was a busy end of the year with work and then David arrived on on the 19th and stayed til the 30th. It was a lot of fun and had a bit of time to relax too.

Christmas Day was very nice and good fun. We went to a more casual restaurant called 108 Brasserie in Marylebone. Afterwards we both went to Stu & Kris' place for drinks.

On Boxing Day, David came to my house for our traditional roast. It was a relaxing afternoon. And around 5pm I hosted a Port and Cheese party (David brought the supplies) with Stu, Kris, Mailie, Mandy & Nic for the evening.

We did our usual restaurant tour trying a number of new spots. The highlight was Fera at Claridges - excellent food from Simon Rogan and a beautiful art deco dining room. We also went to Portland and Bar Boulud (Stu & Kris joined that evening). Ollie joined us for dinner at Elystan in Chelsea and Social Eating House in Soho. And of course we had a couple of lunches at Cecconi's and cocktails at Duke's.

We went to the theatre, and an exhibition of Australian Impressionists, and had a day trip to the New Forest for lunch.
