Back on the first weekend of February I took the train north to visit Laura, Barry & their little girl Lucy in Harrogate. They'd put together an excellent itinerary for my visit.
After picking me up from the train, Laura and I squeezed in a quick drink before an early night.
After breakfast on Saturday we popped into town for a coffee at a cute spot called Hoxton Cafe. Fuelled up, we took a drive to a sweet little village called Nun Monkton for a pub lunch at the Alice Hawthorn Inn. I throughly enjoyed my lunch, sat right by the open fire toasty and warm while it rained outside. I had pork cheeks and a trio of Yorkshire rhubarb desserts. I could have stayed all afternoon. Instead I snoozed in the car on the way home and woke up in time for colouring in with Lucy at home. That night Laura and I went to famed 70s seafood restaurant, the Drum & Monkey for dinner. We had scallops and a local trout fish.
On Sunday morning Laura and I went to the rooftop spa of Rudding Park hotel. It is a very lovely spa with steam rooms, different types of showers and two outdoor pools. We spent 3 hours trying them all out. And had a free glass of champagne too! It was a nice treat (and very reasonably priced compared to London prices). After a quick lunch I was back on the train to London feeling very relaxed.
A great visit!

I forgot to take any photos of me and Laura & co, or in Harrogate!
