Fave Cous comes to town

I spent the AFL Grand Final long weekend in Melbourne with Kristy visiting.
It was a fun weekend and another good excuse to explore the city.

We kicked off at the South Melbourne market with a wander and an extended pit stop at the little Spanish deli and bodego for glasses of Cava and snacking on jamon & manchego. We took a turn around the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens to walk off the bubbles before dinner at local Italian, Park Street.

Saturday was sunnier so after lunch in Elwood we walked from there along the coastal path down to the Insta-famous, heavily-photographed Brighton Beach Boxes. It was hard to really enjoy the boxes for the grammers to be honest, bu still fun to see. And if you can't beat them, might as well join them... We ate at another local, Wynyard for dinner.

To wrap up the weekend, we got some exercise with a hike to the Pinnacles in the Grampians 2 1/2 hours outside Melbourne, and a view of the Mackenzie Falls.
