Hello Everyone,
I've been in London for nearly two weeks now. I'm staying at my friend Laura's place (tks Laura!) in Shepherd's Bush til I sort out earning some pounds and will then start flat hunting. I started looking for jobs last week and I've seen plenty of recruitment people now and have them all looking for me. There seem to be loads of jobs around, and I've had two interviews already (turned one down after I was offered it (yes interesting decision), and didn't get the other one). It all looks promising. The sooner the better, because then I can start planning weekends away!
The week I spent in Tokyo on my way here was amazing. It is a thriving metropolis! There must be one department store for every 50 people (I showed great restraint). Aside from seeing my old school friend, Kayoko, highlights include savouring some of my favourite japanese foods, my vintage green kate spade clutch purchase in Ginza and the view from the 52nd floor art gallery at Mori Tower in Roppongi. It was freezing cold so I was well prepared for London, which is apparently having a mild winter at temps around 7 degrees.
While settling in to my new home I have managed a few highlights so far: visiting Leeds Castle, devouring a Sunday roast lunch at a lovely pub by the Thames, wandering around Portobello Road markets in Notting Hill (where believe it or not I bumped into Lisa B from Clems!), having a cocktail in an ice glass, on ice chairs, in an ice room at the Ice Bar, seeing The Strokes in concert, and catching up with my friends Alana and Jules. And yesterday I went to the Tate Modern which I've been wanting to do since it opened.
That's it from me for now. Hope you are all well.
