Hi again everyone,
Thanks for your emails, I love starting my day with all of your news ;-) I am well and truly settling in now and having plenty of fun. Can't believe it took me so long to get here!!
I finished my month up at RMG and I am now working at Proximity London - officially the most awarded DM agency in the world (!) - for a 6 month project on BBC's TV Licensing (the agency is based in Marylebone). The account is a little dry but its a great opportunity to work with the agency and I might move on to bigger and better things afterwards. Its all below the line work which is a change too so I'll learn loads. And can you believe, sitting opposite me is Brooke from Clems!
After 6 weeks dossing with Laura, I have moved into a lovely flat in Pimlico. Its with 2 girls - Flavia, an English girl who owns the flat, and Louise, an Australian girl. Both are friends of friends. Pimlico is very central (zone 1) so that's great - close to the Thames for when I take up jogging, and enough shops etc around to keep me out of mischief. Its about 3 mins walk to the tube (all the tube stations look different and this one has yellow polka dots!). It only takes 20 mins on the big red bus to get to work and I go past Duke of Wellington Place, Hyde Park, along Park Lane and past Marble Arch to get there which isn't a bad way to start the day.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Bristol for the weekend and stayed with Alana & Jules. A&J took me to all the good spots, including a pub with a great view of the first ever suspension bridge built. For the music fans, I also went out to a very cool (not-so-secret-anymore) bar called Tube which is Massive Attack's club, and saw the studio where Portishead made an album.
I am getting caught up in the excitement that the sun seems to bring to the city and have loads of things to do as well as the usual gatherings (read: drinks) after work and on the weekends. I watched all 5 mins of the Oxford Cambridge boat race as it went by The Old Ship pub at Hammersmith on Sunday. I love that part of London and it was a fun afternoon - packed with people.
Other London activities...followed in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper, ordered Indian in Brick Lane, wandered around the Americans in Paris exhibition at the National Gallery on a Wed night late session (where you can have a glass of wine while viewing the art - very stylish), and caught the train to Bath for the day and had afternoon tea in The Pump Room.
I'm going on a road trip with Laura and Alana & Jules this Easter. We're off to the Cornwall peninsula to see some quaint fishing villages. Happy Egg Day wherever the bunny finds you!
