Long lunch in Paris

Yes, last Wednesday I went to Paris for lunch. Twenty of us were treated by work to celebrate the end of the project we have been working on (the project I was specifically taken on for). The clients and the TVL AH team caught an early morning Eurostar to Paris and arrived for lunch at Kong.

For the dedicated Sex & The City fans, Kong is the restaurant where Carrie had lunch with the Russian’s ex-wife. And it is one very cool restaurant. I had a delicious crab and avocado salad for entrée, sea bass on risotto for main and followed it with a chocolate pudding and crème pistache sauce for dessert.

Paris was 39 degrees on this particular day (in London it was the hottest July day since 1911 at 36 degrees). Not to be put off by the sweltering heat though, Brooke, Louise (one of the clients), and I headed off for a boat trip along the Seine to take in the sights. Afterwards we wandered down to the George Pompidou Centre and sat in the roof top terrace sipping on a lovely glass of champagne (there’s no need to re-hydrate on water when in Paris) taking in the view.

With the day almost over, the three of us sprinted (again!!) through the streets and metro stations to get back to Gare du Nord in time for our train home.

It was a decadent day out.
