Walking from Guildford to Gomshall

Yesterday 7 of us went on a 10km self-guided walk in Surrey which Laura arranged for us (tks!). We took the train from Waterloo to Guildford and set off from there. For 3 hours we rambled through some lovely countryside chatting and admiring the views as we headed to Shere. Our pit stop for lunch was The White Horse pub (of The Holiday fame). We restored our energy here on some tasty pub grub and kept going for the afternoon.

Slightly wearier but keen for more, we chose the longer route home, and inadvertently chose a much longer route home after that! Thanks go to the two local men who ferried us down a very steep & muddy ancient road in their 4WD to Gomshall, the village we had lost track of.

After a delightful day we arrived home a bit later than expected but definitely having our fair share of fresh air and exercise. I'm cleaning the mud off my shoes ready for the next one!
