River Cottage & Devon Weekend

Ten of us went to Devon expressly for dinner at the River Cottage but indulged in an entire weekend of frivolity.

On Friday night we enjoyed four courses of fresh, local & seasonal produce - rabbit terrine, a random cabbage vegetable I can't remember the name of with cheese and anchovies, whole mackerel with leaves, potato and beetroot and a strawberry semifreddo with elderflower sorbet. It was a really great dining experience and perfect to do with a bunch of friends. Their cider brandy went down all too well that evening...

On Saturday & Sunday we hung out our manor house playing croquet, reading, napping, eating (I am lucky enough to have friends who cook brilliantly) and drinking (I am even luckier to have friends who know how to mix a superb cocktail).

Waking up to this...

Our competitive spirit was awakened with croquet on Saturday morning

We also squeezed in a pit stop at Lyme Regis before heading back to London.
