Home Sweet Home

As ever it is fantastic to go home and spend time with my friends and family. This time Alana & Jules' wedding was the hook for my return visit.

For the first week and a half of the holiday I was based in Brisbane where I ate, drank and played with many friends (and their little ones) - Louise & AJ, Rhi & John, Steph & Nadia, Denise & Jake, Carmen, Juleen, Kirsty & Ruby, and Lisa & Hamish - great to see you all! And of course, Mum and Rob.

Brisbane seems to change quite dramatically with each visit and I like where it's going - but it is going slowly! I managed to try a couple of new places as well as stop in at some old favourites, do a bit of shopping, and check out the Valentino and Douglas Kirkland exhibits at GOMA. I also squeezed in a day trip to Toowoomba.

Then it was on to Stradbroke Island with Dunja and Belinda for Alana & Jules' wedding. We had great fun over the couple of days at the wedding, the bbq the next day and walking through the gorge. It was a shame it rained on the big day but the sun did shine for the next day's get together.

My last week was a mini road trip in Victoria with Mum. We kicked off with a day in Melbourne visiting friends and then headed down the Mornington Peninsula to Mt Martha and along the Great Ocean Road via Lorne, Apollo Bay, the amazing 12 Apostles, and on to Port Fairy.

The best day and absolute highlight was seeing the apostles and other rock formations on a lovely sunny day which was then capped off with an excellent dinner at the 'two hat' Merrijig Inn in Port Fairy. A brilliant end to my three weeks away.
