Dinner by Heston, Knightsbridge

Last Monday Kris, Stuart and I ate at Dinner By Heston to celebrate Kris' birthday. The menu is taken from very, very old English recipes but it feels modern when it arrives on the plate. I was actually a bit disappointed with my meal - I didn't order well - so as a result I probably wouldn't recommend it. Although Stuart and Kris both had some very good dishes. The space is large, open and modern and unsurprisingly the service is excellent.

My menu choices. I should have ordered the meat fruit, the pork chop and the spit roast pineapple.

Earl Grey Tea cured Salmon (c. 1730)
Lemon salad, gentleman's relish, wood sorrel & smoked roe

Spiced Pigeon (c. 1860)
Ale & artichokes

Bohemian cake (c.1890)
Chocolate, citrus & London summertime honey ice cream

Kris with a Chelsea Gardner cocktail and her starter: meat fruit - mandarin, chicken liver and foie gras parfait.
