Discovering my green thumb

A couple of Sundays ago I channelled my lovely Granny and Mum and visited some gardens with Jaimee as part of the Open Garden scheme. For one weekend a year lots of private gardens are opened up, and most exciting is that some are in secret London places the public can't usually go.

I took the opportunity to visit the Inner Temple and Middle Temple Inns of Court tucked away between Fleet Street and the embankment where much of the lawyering community spend their days. Lucky for them, they have some charming gardens to while away their lunch breaks in. Lots of manicured green lawn, interesting plantings, huge old trees and plenty of beautiful peonies and roses.

We popped into the counter at the Delaunay afterwards for a coffee and a sandwich.

The most stunning thing in the garden. And a lovely peony too ;-)

Peer closely under the fence and you can see the gardening gloves drying on the line.

The grass was green, but not this green. Too much colour saturation!

Lavender bushes studded with roses
Plant pots sitting directly in the water feature

A pretty tasty rueben
