Budburst Wine Festival

One Saturday I joined Pauline & Stephen for a wine festival in the Macedon Ranges.

It was very pretty scenery - a green Australia like you see in the movies, not Queensland - think Man from Snowy River. Unfortunately I was too clearly distracted by the wine tasting to take photos of the surrounds.

We started with a pie in Kyneton and then visited Hanging Rock for their sparkling (I saw the 'Picnic from' Hanging Rock in the distance); Paramoor Winery (there were so many wines I lost track); Curly Flat for their Pinot Noir (apparently some of the best in Australia so I bought two bottles); and unsurprisingly I've completely forgotten what the fourth winery was.

It was a fun day, I liked the wine more than the Yarra Valley, so I'd head back there sometime.
