Rain, Raclette & Red...and more

It was last month now when Mum came to visit for her second trip to Melbourne.
The wet weather slightly dampened our options but it didn't hold us back too much.

Friday night dinner was a bowl of pasta at Bellota a short walk from my house.

We started Saturday with coffee and chilli folded eggs at a local cafe called James before stocking up at the South Melbourne market. In the afternoon we had raclette and an excellent 3 cheese toasty at the Holey Cheese Festival before going to the cinema in Carlton to see the Downton Abbey film.

Sunday's excursion involved the Rose St Artist market in Fitzroy, lunch at the Builders Arms pub which I really liked and will definitely go back to, and a walk home through the pretty Fitzroy Gardens with umbrellas up. We rounded out the weekend with dinner at home.

Builder's Arms is the first good pub I've been to...

...and it has pies!
