Australia Day Weekend

With the first long weekend springing up straight after the Christmas break, I stayed in Melbourne for the weekend. I was pleased to make the most of it with a few activities planned.

Starting on Friday night and finishing on Saturday afternoon, I restored my outdoor table while listening to Triple J's Hottest 100. It was a good project which I weirdly enjoyed. The process reminded me of a good facial - first cleanse (wash down), then exfoliate (sanding), followed by a light peel (chemical wash). The thirsty surface is then ready to be hydrated with a serum (1st coat), another serum (2nd coat), and moisturise with SPF (3rd coat). Voila!

Looking much better after several hours' TLC

Pauline and I went to see the pianist Ludovico Einaudi perform at the Myer Music Bowl in the botanic gardens. It was a lovely summer evening and we settled in for a couple of hours on the picnic blanket with nibbles from South Melbourne market and some rosé.

On the Monday I went to the Australian Open to see the Round 4 matches. In the Rod Laver arena I saw Thiem play (who went onto the final with Djokovic), and Murguza who went on the Women's singles final.
