Bank Holidays and the days in between

There have been a few long weekends to fill recently. The road trip to Cornwall over Easter was terrific fun. As was the last long weekend spent on the Isle of Wight with Kayoko. (Separate entries for these two!) I’ll be spending the next May long weekend camping in the Cotswolds. Believe it or not, I am now the proud owner of a pre-loved tent. I will sorely miss the luxury that comes with camping with Belinda & Jeremy, and the music festival that usually accompanies expeditions with the Blurton clan (+ Jules).

We recently celebrated Laura’s 26th birthday for a week starting with drinks at Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill and ending it with a Vietnamese feast in Pimlico. And last weekend I was in Bristol celebrating Alana’s 30th birthday! Friday night was a quiet one in – just several bottles of red. Saturday was a day of shopping and pampering in the lead up to an evening of bubbles (champagne and the kids’ party bubbles) at the tube with a crowd of friends. Sunday saw another game of scrabble in the pub before we all headed home again.

In the past few weeks I have had the pleasure of catching up with friends passing through London on their own travels. I managed to spend several evenings with Kayo, Scott & Jason or Laleh trying new restaurants and bars.

The weather has most definitely improved. Londoners are drinking outside on the streets in Soho and Covent Garden until the sun goes down or 11pm whichever comes first. Last week I sat with Laura in Regent’s Park in my lunch break soaking up the sun in my lunch break. The best excuse I’ve ever had to buy a new season wardrobe!

That’s it from me for now.
