I went to Greenwich for the day on Saturday with Mattias. The commentary from Colin & Joe on the boat that leaves from Embankment was terrific. From South London, these guys were straight out of Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - brilliant. Actually the boat trip was great to give me better bearings of London and the Thames - with my terrific sense of direction the last 9 months of wandering the streets of London means I can negotiate Regent Street and Douglas Street (my street) without a map.
There is a cute market there. Apparently 62 pubs. Of which I saw two. I wouldn't really recommend the Admiralty Hands on the waterfront - there are better pub lunches on offer but it is in amongst the action. We walked around the Royal Observatory and its grounds which afford a lovely view of London. Didn't have the energy for the Maritime Museum which brings me to the bar & grill near the park with the turquoise interior that was very good - they serve a decent pimms and have lots of light streaming through big windows.
Still haven't replaced my digi camera since it was stolen - so sorry no pics.
