Petersham's Summer Supper

Once a year, for only 5 nights or so, the now michelin-starred Petersham Nurseries Cafe, headed up by Australian chef Skye Gyngell, opens in the evening for dinner. Normally it's lunch only. This year I was lucky enough to book a table and go with Rebecca, Lucy, Laleh, Nil & Jesse.

The restaurant is in truly the most delightful setting you can imagine. Having walked through the nursery and shop to the end of the conservatory you're seated on mis-matched wooden tables and chairs decorated with small vases of fresh flowers. Beside the tables are tree ferns and vines of jasmine and bougainvillea growing up to the glass roof.

My delicious meal:
Starter: Dorset crab with agretti and namjim (agretti is a sea weed and namjim is a light fish sauce)
Main: Slow cooked shoulder of pork with chard and sage
Dessert: Chocolate slab with sherry-soaked raisins, ginger caramel and jersey cream (not the light option!)

I absolutely love this place - it is magical! If I was a lady-who-lunched, this is where I would be lunching every day.
